Workforce transformation moves away from the traditional

Although technology is changing at a rapid pace, the traditional PC is still the way work gets done.
Chris Buchanan, director: client solutions at Dell EMC, points out that 60% of people now work outside of office hours and two-third do at least some work from home. A massive 42% of workers would quit their job f they didn’t have access to the same technology; and 82% says technology influences the job they would take.

Internet of Things (IoT) is not a thing – it’s a concept.

This is the word from Benjamin Vernooij, from Dell EMC EMEA, who points out that it is about sensors, data, connections and computation/storage, all of which add up to the ability to analyse the environment.

Digital disruption is real, he adds, and IoT is able to radically transform business. “It is important that you think about digital transformation in your business now rather than later.”

The structure of the data centre hasn’t really changed a lot over the years, and is still there to service applications.

In some respects, however, the platforms today support the cloud where applications are hosted, says Dell EMC engineer Greg McDonald.
